What is needed to fly to europe from US and take either the train or bus to st petersburg, russia?
I am planning on flying to England or Germany from Las Vegas and then taking land transportation to St Petersburg Russia to save money. I know Russia requires a visa to stay there but are any other visas or transit visas required to travel through the european countries? Need real answers, damn it.

Why on earth you would want to fly to England or Germany then take land transportation to St. Petersburg is beyond my comprehension. Berlin to St.Petersburg by shortest land route is 1600 kilometres London to St. Petersburg is 260 kilometres and a ferry crossing would be required. Cheapest method is a flight from Las Vegas to St.Petersburg with flight changes in London and one of the main airport hubs in Europe, preferably booking a through ticket.

Why do you assume that ground transportation will be cheaper than flying into St Petersburg? First, you don't want to fly into London because ground transportation from there pretty much means taking the Eurostar to Paris as a start and that's expensive. Germany is closer to St Petersburg and there are budget flights to St Petersburg on Germanwings, Air Berlin and /or Air Baltic from many cities in Germany. see: http://www.whichbudget.com/ or http://www.skyscanner.net/ which are two good sites for finding budget flights here in Europe. It's faster, cheaper and you don't have to worry about visas other than the one for Russia
